The late route begins at the warm lantern, bends past the shuttered fish shop, and ends beside the deepest puddle. Moonlit Cat never hurries. It checks the reflection, listens for tins moving without permission, then sits exactly where tomorrow’s first delivery will need to pass. By dawn, the whole block has been inspected and mildly inconvenienced.
